2015 Brut Rosé

2015 Brut Rosé

Showing off a very dark color, the wine begins with aromas of brioche, red raspberry and cranberry. This shows a wonderful astringency, with tension showing first fiddle. Citrus fruits mingle with tart red fruits on the palate. The tartness and acidity of this wine makes this a downright awesome pour for somms wanting to pair with shellfish. Drink 2017-2024- 90

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas of wild strawberries, lemongrass, and a hint of earthiness. Fresh blueberry juice, with hints of tart cherry, more strawberries, and a lime-like tartness in the midpalate. Intensely hued, powerfully fruity, and dry, with a fine bead and lingering red fruit.
Production Notes
91% Pinot Noir, 9% Pinot Meunier
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested by hand, sorted, and destemmed. After a four-day cold soak, the grapes were pressed, and racked to a stainless tank for primary fermentation. When fermentation was complete, the wine was racked off the gross lees and aged in stainless until bottling. The wine was bottled under cap, and aged in tirage bins until it was disgorged in September 2017 and finished without dosage.
Food Pairing Notes
Rare lamb, grilled or smoked salmon, charcuterie, tuna, or fresh goat cheese.
