Kramer Vineyards - Redesign

2014 Pinot Noir Pommard

2014 Pinot Noir Pommard

An excellent bottling by head winemaker Kim Kramer, this Pinot Noir wine shows earthy aromatics of wet stone, black truffle, with black raspberry coulis and wild blackberry. There are rich flavors of black cherry, blackberry pie, white truffle oil and peat moss. The Pinot shows wonderful terroir and minerality and will cellar well into the next decade. Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas of red berry fruits and earth. On the palate, there's a nice roundness, bright acidity, and integrated tannins, with flavors of juicy cranberry, raspberry, and a very long finish.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested by hand and 75% destemmed. The fruit underwent a 5-day cold soak. After fermentation began, the must was pumped over and punched down twice daily until dry and pressed. The wine settled in a tank overnight, and was then racked to 25% new French oak barrels to age for 17 months until bottling.
